One way to maintain your intensity in pursuit of your passion is to make visible your principals and commitments around that passion. That is why I have published “A Running Manifesto”. By stating a commitment to, for example, maintain the intensity of my running in the face of the upcoming (or, recently arrived) Cleveland winter, I hope to make it easier to face the challenging mornings where the wind is brisk and the snow piled high.
Perhaps someday this will evolve into a small book. For now, I’ll be content to post it as a reminder of my beliefs, and to receive your challenges, inputs, and feedback as to its value and the principals stated. A text version appears in the “About” section of this blog. I hope you find at least a few of the ideas motivating, though I recognize that not all of you choose to complete your run early in the morning.
